Forbes editor Randall Lane and Moira Forbes, executive vice president of Forbes Media and publisher of ForbesWoman, spoke on Cheddar on Wednesday morning about the publication’s 100th anniversary.
Forbes is the great-granddaughter of B.C. Forbes, who founded the magazine in 1917.
“What’s so extraordinary is that his vision has lasted 100 years,” said Forbes. “It speaks to the brand as well as his mission to empower success in people, not just in business and in life as well. It’s so extraordinary to be celebrating this milestone.”
Forbes said that the magazine would continue to write about the movers and shakers in business in the next 100 years.
Lane spoke about the digital disruption that has occurred in the media industry.
“It’s maybe the most exciting time to be in media, as you guys well know,” said Lane. “As much as there are challenges, there are opportunities. The reason Forbes is here and is strong is that we have pivoted…into a real digital powerhouse.”
