Rob Cox, global editor of Reuters Breakingviews, sent out the following announcement on Friday:
Colleagues –
I am pleased to announce that John Foley will assume the role of U.S. Editor, based in New York, from early October. Jeff Goldfarb, who is moving to Hong Kong, will hand the baton to John when he heads off to Hong Kong to oversee our coverage in the region as a Deputy Editor.
The Manhattan posting will mark the third continent John has covered, and put his indelible stamp on, since joining Breakingviews way back in 2004.
John first distinguished himself as a pull-no-punches commentator in London before moving out to Hong Kong to establish Breakingviews’ first beachhead in Asia. After a few of years there, and then in Beijing, John returned to London two years ago as EMEA Editor, a position he recently handed over to Peter Thal Larsen in preparation for his move to New York.
Please join me in congratulating John on his new assignment!
Best,
Rob
