The Fort Myers News-Press announced Friday that it will cut its Saturday business section beginning later this month.
Among papers on Florida’s Gulf Coast, both the Sarasota Herald-Tribune and the Tampa Tribune have cut their standalone Sunday business sections, while the St. Petersburg Times has cut its daily business section.
A story on the paper’s web site stated, “The regular features of those sections will appear in other parts of the newspaper, said Terry Eberle, vice president and executive editor.
“‘We are as committed as ever to supporting the First Amendment and serving all residents of our community with public service journalism,’ Eberle said.”
