Wayne Price has been named local business editor for Florida Today, a Gannett newspaper.
A story on its website states, “Price, who joined the newspaper as a business reporter in 1999, will lead coverage of local business news and issues for FLORIDA TODAY, floridatoday.com and related products.
“‘Wayne’s knowledge of the local business environment and his skill at communicating through digital platforms and in print make him ideal for this position,’ said Bob Stover, executive editor. ‘His priorities include increasing coverage of small businesses and local entrepreneurs.’
“Price graduated from Kansas State University with a degree in journalism. He has worked at newspapers in Kansas and upstate New York, and for USA Today’s Money section.
“‘I have had the good fortune to work with two great business editors during my time at FLORIDA TODAY, and I hope to continue their legacy,’ said Price, 50, of Suntree. ‘I’m also excited about our venture into digital technologies, which will expand our coverage of Space Coast business into many platforms, including mobile devices, video, radio and print.'”
