Patrick Smith of the Press Gazette in London writes Thursday about some new hires that the Financial Times has made in its New York office.
Smith wrote, “Henny Sender has left the Wall Street Journal to be the FT’s New York-based international finance correspondent. Sender wrote for the WSJ’s Money and Investing section where she covered hedge funds and private equity and previously worked in Hong Kong for the Asian Wall Street Journal.
“Tunku Varadarajan has been appointed contributing editor, mainly writing reviews and essays for the FT’s weekend edition. Varadadarajan was assistant managing editor and op-ed editor at the Wall Street Journal, as well TV and media critic.
“He was a professor of law at Oxford University before moving into journalism and is currently a professor at New York University.”
