Hayden Field is among the reporters who were laid off Tuesday by new tech site Protocol.
There were 13 staffers who were laid off. Among them was Silicon Valley reporter Levi Sumagaysay.
She had been reporting from New York covering artificial intelligence and the people and power of technology.
Field joined Protocol after being associate editor at Entrepreneur. Previously, she was working freelance for Fortune magazine and also held the post of artificial intelligence reporting fellow for the National Press Foundation.
Apart from working freelance for Refiney29, Field also served as a travel editor for The Daily Meal and as a multimedia news intern at the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Additionally, she also held the posts of a writing intern and editor-in-chief at The Phi Beta Kappa Society and UGAzine, respectively.
In June 2013, she was an international intern for CNN.
Field is a B.A. in journalism and theater for The University of Georgia.
