Fellows selected for 2019 FRED Advanced Data Workshop

The Society for Advancing Business Editing and Writing has selected 16 business journalists for its advanced data workshop at the St. Louis Federal Reserve on September 19 and 20.

Fellows will learn how to graph different type of FRED-related data, discover new data releases and find data to help you create new stories. Speakers will discuss how they take the pulse of the American economy, feed that information to the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) and influence interest rate decisions.

“Working with our partners at the Federal Reserve in St. Louis has created the first-ever FRED workshop for business journalists,” said Marty Steffens, SABEW Chair in Business and Financial Journalism, University of Missouri School of Journalism. “It’s invaluable hands-on training for novice and experienced business journalists and will lead to better and more detailed stories.”
