Fast Company magazine announced Thursday that Jana Meier is joining the staff as deputy art director on Jan. 7. In addition, Mark Borden joined as senior editor, and Anya Kamenetz is joining as a staff writer on Jan. 14.
Meier was a key part of the launch team at Condé Nast Portfolio, designing features and departments as senior associate art director. Prior to Portfolio she worked at O, The Oprah Magazine and at Outside Magazine.
Borden has written for The New York Times Magazine, The New Yorker, and Sports Illustrated, among other publications. A reporter at Fortune from 1998-2002, he wrote that magazine’s profile of designer Marc Jacobs and his business partner Robert Duffy last fall. Borden also worked with Marcus Buckingham as a co-writer for The New York Times bestseller Go Put Your Strengths To Work, published last April.Â
Kamenetz has written for The New York Times, The Washington Post and The Huffington Post, among others. She’s the author of the book “Generation Debt,” which grew out of a series in The Village Voice that was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize in 2004.
