FairWarning.org receives $60,000 in funding

A two-year-old website called FairWarning.org that covers safety, health and corporate conduct has been awarded $60,000 in grants and funding.

The Charles Evans Foundation, which provided the original funding to launch FairWarning in March 2010, has continued its  support with a contribution of $50,000.

“The Evans Foundation has been there for us since the beginning,” said Myron Levin, executive director of FairWarning, in a statement. “It’s hard to imagine where we’d be without them.”

FairWarning, which is based in Encino, Calif., also has received grants of $5,000 each from The Rosenthal Family Foundation and from The Renaissance Foundation. In addition, the Fund for Investigative Journalism has awarded $3,500. “We rely heavily on these donors to assist our efforts to provide strong, public interest reporting,” Levin said. “We are so grateful for their support.”

Starting this week, FairWarning’s “News & Notes” feature, which appears five days a week, has been revamped to give readers a broader roundup of important safety and health news.
