Doug Iverson, a former senior editor for business news at the St. Paul Pioneer Press, is the new senior editor for Finance & Commerce, a Dolan Co. business newspaper.
“Since Iverson became the St. Paul newspaper’s senior editor for business in 2002, the staff has been a multiple winner of Best in Business recognition from the Society of American Business Editors and Writers and the recipient of numerous awards from the Minnesota Society of Professional Journalists and the Associated Press.
“Iverson, who earned a B.A. in journalism from the University of Minnesota in 1986, started his newspaper career as a reporter at the U’s Minnesota Daily student paper. He was editor of the Daily from 1985 to 1986. After graduation he worked as a reporter for the Duluth News-Tribune and later for The Blade in Toledo, Ohio. Iverson joined the Pioneer Press in 1992 as a business reporter covering airlines and served as a business news team leader from 1997 to 2002.
