Ex-Bloomberg reporter joins artificial intelligence company

Jack Clark

Jack Clark, a Bloomberg News tech reporter who left the company last week, has joined an artificial intelligence research company.

Clark is becoming OpenAI’s strategy and communications director. He will help with community outreach, policy, communications, and strategy.

He had recently been covering Google and artificial intelligence after joining Bloomberg in August 2014 to cover Oracle, Dell, Hewlett-Packard and Salesforce.

Clark had spent the previous 19 months covering data systems, cloud networks and computer systems for The Register in San Francisco. Before that, he worked for ZDNet and as a freelance reporter.

He is a graduate of the University of East Anglia with a degree in English literature.

Chris Roush

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
