Alan Julian, the business editor of the Evansville Courier & Press in Indiana, has announced his retirement from the paper, effective Jan. 31, according to a story in Tuesday’s paper.
Carol Wersich wrote, “Julian, 55, has worked at the newspaper for 30 years. During that span he was a politics and business reporter, metro editor, assistant managing editor and business editor. He was also editor and publisher of EBJ, the company’s monthly business magazine.”
Later, she added, “Julian said he and his wife, Carol, had been hoping for a long time to be in a position to retire early.
“‘We are now in that position,’ he said. ‘And, we have a grandchild on the way in about two months and we want to have free time to spend being grandparents.'”
