Escher, head of audience development at TechCrunch, departs
Anna Escher, the head of audience development at TechCrunch, is leaving to join DFINITY.
Escher writes, “I still kinda don’t believe I had the opportunity to write a small slice of TechCrunch’s history as Head of Audience Development. This role was about highlighting the investigative work of our editorial team. Finessing the touch points with which the community engages with the TechCrunch brand, whether it’s the site, social, SEO, newsletters, podcasts, video or events.
“Thank you to Alexia Bonatsos hired me as an intern with zero tech knowledge. Travis Bernard who turned me into a numbers person, taught me everything I know about audience development and unwaveringly advocated for my growth. Henry Pickavet, Jordan Crook and Matthew Panzarino who lead the editorial team with sharp wit and empathy. Jon Shieber and Connie Loizos who invested in my reporting career and whipped my news writing into shape. Neesha Tambe who has been a guiding source of inspiration, trailblazing the Startup Battlefield and community programs. And the rest of the editorial team — I have not-so-secretly been a total fangirl of every reporter on staff since day one.”
