Sarah Todd, an editor at Quartz, is becoming a senior reporter for its Quartz at Work section.
She will start on April 1.
Todd has been at Quartz since October 2015, first as deputy editor of its Ideas section and also as a pod editor.
In a note to the staff on Friday, editor Kevin Delaney wrote:
As a pod editor, Sarah brought her prodigious talents to some of our most memorable features on everything from hunting to suicide to General Motors. Her strong instincts for smart and engaging storytelling combined with her unfailing support of colleagues within and outside of her team have made Sarah a go-to editor at Quartz and have helped many writers here do their best work. She consistently steps up at critical moments, including agreeing to move to London for two months last year to bridge an editor gap there, and demonstrates leadership in our coverage of topics like #MeToo and education.
She previously worked at American Banker as reporter and as deputy editor of BankThink, American Banker’s blog about ideas, trends, and other developments in the financial services industry.
Todd is a graduate of Pomona College and has a master’s degree from the University of Oregon.
I can’t wait to get typin’, but I will truly miss working as an editor with Quartz’s fiercely intelligent reporters. I’ve learned so much from all of them, especially the dream team of @sinoceros @jandersonQZ @nkl @BelleTimsit and @el72champs <3 (2/2)
