Casey Selix, the editor of Finance & Commerce, a Minneapolis-based business newspaper, is leaving the paper at the end of the year.
Selix has been the editor of the BridgeTower Media paper since 2014. She previously was the managing editor for four years. She joined the paper in 2010 as a special section editor.
“I have been tinkering with an idea for an editing business to fill in some gaps I’ve seen in 21st century news platforms,” said Selix in an email to Talking Biz News. “I leave at the end of December, which should give my publisher enough time to find a new editor. The hope is the new editor will be here in enough time for me to train my replacement, as needed.”
Selix was previously an editor and writer at MinnPost.com, a nonprofit online news operation, for three years.
She was also a business reporter and assistant business editor at the St. Paul Pioneer Press, where she worked from 1994 to 2006.
Selix also worked at the Fort Worth Star-Telegram and as managing editor of the Arlington Daily News.
