Editor named for Cumberland Valley Business Journal

Zachary Hoopes has been hired by The Carlisle Sentinel this week as business editor and will guide the content development for the Cumberland Valley Business Journal, a monthly business magazine focused on Cumberland County that debuts later this month.

A story in the Sentinel states, “Hoopes, a Waynesboro High School graduate, returns to Central Pa. after graduating from Columbia University and working as a reporter in Ocean City, Maryland. There, Hoopes covered City Hall and economic issues for the newspaper.

“‘Zach is a bright young man with a strong foundation in reporting,’ Sentinel Executive Editor Jeff Pratt said. ‘He is inquisitive and enjoys the challenge of attacking a topic and presenting readers a detailed look at something that goes beyond statistics and quotes. He is a perfect fit for the CVBJ and our business coverage.’

“‘Business, economics and development are not really looked at comprehensively on the local level,’ Hoopes said. ‘There can be a lot more impact industry and economics have on a local economy as a whole.'”
