Economic media outlook event deadline looming

New York Financial Writers Association members are invited to the Dow Jones & Co. headquarters at World Financial Center for the 6th Annual Global Economic Outlook media event on Tuesday, Jan. 22, organized by Dow Jones Indexes/STOXX Ltd.

Leading financial experts will provide their insight on the global economy, equity performance and upcoming investment trends for U.S. and world markets.

Expert speakers and topics to be explored are: Â

  • Richard Bernstein, Chief Investment Strategist, Merrill Lynch: “Key Investment Trends in 2008â€?
  • Jay Byson, Global Economist, Wachovia Securities: “What’s Ahead for the Global Economyâ€?Â
  • David Powell, Currency Strategist, IDEAglobal: “Currency Outlook: The Fate of the U.S. Dollarâ€?
  • John A. Prestbo, executive director and editor of Dow Jones Indexes, will moderate the panel and Q&A session. Continental breakfast will be served.

The event will be held at One World Financial Center, 200 Liberty Street, Dow Jones & Co. Board Room, 11th floor, from 10 a.m.-12 p.m.

Chris Roush

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
