Wall Street Journal international editor Rebecca Blumenstein sent out the following announcement to the staff on Thursday:

The combined Wall Street Journal/Dow Jones Newswires Middle East Bureau is looking for an ambitious, energetic journalist to be based in the capital of Saudi Arabia, the Middle East’s largest economy and an essential global player in politics and business.

This reporter will become a member of our Middle East team covering a mixture of equities, corporate finance, banking, M&A, IPO and energy coverage — as well as political, social and macroeconomic news in the kingdom

The successful candidate should be able to break news and write broad, contextual stories that can serve readers on all of our platforms. The reporter will be writing spot stories and features for The Wall Street Journal, Dow Jones Newswires and WSJ.com.

Interested candidates should ideally have experience in the Middle East. Intermediate Arabic is essential, as well as well-honed writing skills.
