Dow Jones/WSJ editor leaves company

Jason Rogers, senior editor for Dow Jones Newswires in the Asia Pacific region, has left the company, according to an e-mail sent to the staff from Wall Street Journal managing editor Robert Thomson.

The e-mail states, “We would like to thank Jason for 16 excellent years of service for Dow Jones in London and Singapore, the past three years as Newswires’ Asia-Pacific senior editor. We wish him well.

“Regional operations chief Sumathi Vaidyanathan and news editor Ros Mathieson will continue to supervise the work of Newswires journalists and spearhead our cooperation and integration with The Wall Street Journal and WSJ.com across Asia-Pacific.”

Rogers moved to Singapore in 2004 from London, where he was senior news editor for European, Middle Eastern and African (EMEA) equities. He joined Dow Jones Newswires in 1996 as a commodities reporter in London and was later promoted to the position of managing editor for EMEA equities before becoming senior news editor.

He is a graduate of St. Hughs College, Oxford, and holds an M.A. in Japanese studies from Essex University, U.K., and Dokkyo University, Japan.
