Dow Jones Newswires has openings

September 20, 2010

Deborah Brewster, who is the deputy managing editor at The Wall Street Journal in charge of hiring and recruiting, sent out the following e-mail to the staff on Monday afternoon:

Dow Jones has some openings for reporters and editors experienced in covering economics and financial markets – bonds, equities and currencies. We are looking for self-starters who have strong analytical skills and a record of scoops,  who are sticklers for accuracy and graceful writers.

We also have an opening for a writer  who has experience in financial market and investment strategy and analysis. The successful applicant would not necessarily have experience as a professional journalist. We would consider someone who has experience working at a financial firm, who has an interest in switching careers and who has an aptitude for writing well and quickly on the news of the day, and for finding hidden newsworthy nuggets.

Those interested should email a resume and samples of work to:  djjobs@wsj.com. Please feel free to alert any outstanding candidates you know who might fit the above profiles.
