Tony Cooke, an editor at Dow Jones Newswires, announced his departure on Friday.
In an email to the staff, Cooke wrote, “Thirteen years ago, at the height of the Internet bubble when financial news services were hiring anyone with a pulse, I was able to demonstrate that my breath could, in fact, fog a mirror and I was hired at Dow Jones Newswires. Since then, I’ve done my best to live up to the standards of one of the world’s great news organizations. Thanks to the patience and assistance of many, many people, I depart Dow Jones today able to credibly call myself a financial journalist.”
Cooke has been SEC editor and a news editor at Corporate Filings Alert.
