The following announcement was sent out Monday afternoon by Dow Jones Newswires editors Neal Lipschutz and Gabriella Stern:
“The U.S. editorial team of Dow Jones Newsletters again reports to Newswires. As a result of the restructuring of Dow Jones’s business operations under which all news staff report up to Dow Jones Editor in Chief Robert Thomson, Ken Andersen, editorial director of Newsletters, reports to Gabriella Stern, senior editor for global news coverage. The change is effective immediately.
“Dow Jones Newsletters’ U.S. team comprises 42 journalists producing daily emailed newsletters. The team works from New York, San Francisco, Washington, Wellesley, Mass., Philadephia, Wilmington, Del., Providence, R.I., and Shanghai. Newsletters journalists already work closely with their counterparts across Dow Jones’s news teams. This move will allow for greater integration across the company, and closer relations between the Newsletters group and Newswires and Wall Street Journal specialists in the areas Newsletters covers.
“Ken has two direct reports:
- Managing Editor Nick Elliott is responsible for Clean Technology Insight, as well as custom publications, including Tomorrow’s News Today. Reporting to Nick is News Editor Marie Glatstein, who runs Daily Bankruptcy Review.
- Managing Editor Jennifer Rossa is responsible for Private Equity Analyst. Reporting to Jen are Assistant Managing Editor Scott Austin, who is responsible for VentureWire, and Assistant News Editor Josh Beckerman, who runs LBO Wire.
“Ken is the only editorial director Newsletters has had. He joined Technologic Partners in 1996, and came to Dow Jones when Newswires purchased TP in late 2003.”
