Phyllis Plitch has been named to the new position of managing editor of investment management at Dow Jones Newswires, according an internal e-mail Tuesday from Dow Jones ME Neal Lipschutz.
“The new project is one of several initiatives we are set to launch in coming months, based on expanded investment following the acquisition of Dow Jones by News Corp.
“Phyllis returns to Dow Jones from Moody’s Investors Service, where she has served as a vice president since June 2006. After a short stint as a senior governance analyst, Phyllis moved to the newly created position of research director in the corporate finance group, the division that covers non-financial companies. Among other things, Phyllis managed a team of writers and worked closely with analysts and managing directors on a range of research publications.
“Phyllis worked for more than a decade as a reporter at Dow Jones News Service, between April 1995 and June 2006. Phyllis covered the retail and securities industries, before developing a reputation as one of the premier reporters on the subject of corporate disclosure issues, routinely beating the competition on stories about Regulation FD, excessive executive compensation and ongoing legal battles between the SEC and publicly traded companies.”
