Gabriella Stern, a senior editor at Dow Jones Newswires, made the following staff announcement on Friday morning:

We’re delighted to let you know that Jenny Paris has been named Managing Editor in charge of forex, fixed income and macroeconomics coverage for DJ FX Trader and Dow Jones Newswires in Europe, the Middle East & Africa. Jenny will report to us and continue to be based in London.

Jenny, who succeeds Terry Roth, has been Assistant Managing Editor since last July, overseeing coverage of the euro-zone crisis as it has lurched from bad to worse. Jenny has worked closely with all of the European bureau chiefs for Dow Jones and The Wall Street Journal, helping to ensure a steady stream of scoops of fact and insight across our news platforms.

Before coming to London, Jenny spent four years as Managing Editor in charge of corporate coverage in Asia-Pacific, based in Singapore. Before moving to Singapore, she was Dow Jones Newswires’ Thailand bureau chief.

Jenny joined Dow Jones in 1993 as a reporter for The Wall Street Journal Europe in her native Greece.

We will be announcing a new reporting line for Costas Paris once Jenny becomes Managing Editor, effective June 1.

The team in Europe has labored hard over the last few years covering the twists and turns of the euro-zone crisis. It’s been a great performance and we’re looking forward to even more scoops and great coverage to come.
