Dow Jones Newswires announced Tuesday that Adam Smallman becomes the global managing editor for investment banking and Arindam Nag is promoted to deputy managing editor.Â
“Dow Jones’s editorial strategy is to deliver critical information and intelligence to financial professionals, which will enable them to make optimal investing, trading and deal decisions. Adam and Arindam will guide news, analysis and deep intelligence of M&A, valuation, capitalization, restructuring and macro trends, connecting investment bankers to deals and deal-makers.”
Smallman was previously managing editor in charge of energy and commodities teams for Dow Jones Newswires in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Prior to that, as news editor, he introduced power, gas and emissions content to DJ Market Talk, streaming commentary on markets, insiders and the “buzz” shaping trading, and headed market-leading European emissions coverage. Smallman is a contributor to Fox Business News, CNBC, CNN and BBC. He will report to Lipschutz and is based in the London office.
Nag has more than 17 years’ experience reporting about financial markets, corporate governance and asset valuation in the U.S., UK and India. He was most recently a senior columnist for “Heard on the Street,” a daily column offering sharp and intelligent analysis of companies on Dow Jones Newswires and in The Wall Street Journal.
Prior to joining Dow Jones, he worked at Reuters for 11 years and at The Economic Times of India for three years. He has made appearances on BBC, CNBC, CNN and Fox Business News. Nag also has an MBA from New York University’s Stern School of Business. He will report to Smallman and is based in the New York newsroom.
