Dow Jones & Co. CEO Almar Latour sent out the following announcement on Tuesday:
We’re pleased to share two new key appointments aimed at helping Dow Jones grow faster and become the world’s leading business news and information platform: Suzi Watford is appointed EVP, Consumer, while Karl Wells is appointed Chief Subscriptions Officer.
In the newly created role of EVP, Consumer, Suzi is charged with creating a stronger Dow Jones “ecosystem”––fostering upselling, cross-selling and bundling opportunities within our existing portfolio––as well as helping to build a Dow Jones platform complete with new products and services.
Suzi, known for her ability to spark new ideas that turn into revenue-driving realities, will continue to oversee membership across Dow Jones and marketing for The Wall Street Journal. There is no doubt that Suzi will continue building on the strong relationships she has cultivated across Dow Jones, to provoke and challenge all of us to think differently about our business, and push beyond our current definition of what is possible.
As Suzi broadens her focus, our commitment to doubling our membership remains steadfast. Karl will oversee direct subscription sales across all of our titles. Karl’s expertise on all things regarding digital subscriptions is unmatched. Dow Jones has long led the industry in digital subscription innovation, and now Karl and his team will usher us, as well as our current and future members, into the next era. He will continue to report to Suzi as part of the membership leadership team.
Please join me in congratulating Suzi and Karl on their well-deserved promotions and wishing them much success in their expanded roles.
