Dow Jones increasing color capability

News & Tech is reporting that Dow Jones & Co., the parent of The Wall Street Journal, is in the midst of a multimillion-dollar project to add color capacity at U.S. production sites nationwide.

News & Tech reports, “The upgrade includes the addition of color towers at contracted sites including the Chicago Tribune, Miami Herald and others, according to multiple sources, all of whom declined to be identified.

“Additionally, Dow Jones is adding new color towers at the seven U.S. print sites it currently operates. The upgrades, all of which are to be completed by next September, will give The Wall Street Journal up to 48 pages of color, double its current capacity, sources told News & Tech.

“Dow Jones’ chief communications officer Bethany Sherman declined comment about the project.”
