Dow Jones appoints GMs for WSJ, Factiva and Risk & Compliance

Dow Jones & Co. CEO Almar Latour sent out the following on Thursday:

Colleagues,

As we step into FY22 with significant momentum, I’m pleased to announce three new General Manager roles for our Wall Street Journal, Factiva and Risk & Compliance franchises. The appointments reflect our focus on strengthening our communities, or verticals—a key strategic priority as we continue our growth trajectory.

Aaron Kissel joins Dow Jones today as General Manager for The Wall Street Journal franchise, responsible for identifying new growth opportunities for the world’s most-powerful brand in business news and information. A top focus will be to accelerate growth for WSJ verticals, including our robust C-Suite and Pro products, and he will support and help drive digital audience and subscription growth for the brand. He will work closely with news, opinion, advertising and subscription, whose leaders will continue to report into me. Additionally, Aaron will oversee WSJ print operations. Aaron has an extensive background in paid vertical subscriptions. He joins us from Politico, where, as Chief Product Officer, he led the development of digital products and tools while also rapidly expanding Politico’s portfolio of consumer products. An accomplished media and technology executive, Aaron has also held product, sales and general management roles at Enigma Technologies, where he served as Chief Revenue Officer; Gartner, where he served as Senior Vice President, Human Resource Practice; and at the Corporate Executive Board, where he was a General Manager. Aaron, who lives in New Jersey with his wife and three children, will report to me.

Traci Mabrey is appointed General Manager of Factiva, where she will have commercial oversight of the brand. In addition, she will lead the strategic reimagination of Factiva as a premium business search engine. Traci brings deep expertise in financial technology operations and wealth management. Most recently, she was the Head of Wealth Solutions, Global Technology and Operations for Broadridge Financial Solutions, where she oversaw product management operations and marketing and governed a suite of top-tier wealth management solutions. Tracy, who joins us on August 23, will report to Frank Filippo. She lives in New York, where she works with nonprofits committed to advancing skill-building opportunities for young women and setting them up for future financial success.

Jan-Coos Geesink, who has been working closely with me as a Senior Advisor on information services, is appointed General Manager of Risk & Compliance. Jan-Coos will lead our broad strategic plan designed to build additional growth for Risk & Compliance. Jan-Coos previously served as a senior executive for Refinitiv. Prior to that, he spent seven years at Thomson Reuters, where he was Managing Director Legal UK before becoming Managing Director Global Sales & Marketing Financial & Risk. He resides in London but will relocate to New York. He will report to Frank and will continue to advise me on the broader information services business. Jan-Coos will succeed Guy Harrison, who will be leaving Dow Jones following three highly successful years of growth at Risk & Compliance, for which we are deeply grateful.

The appointments of Aaron, Traci and Jan-Coos reflect our continued momentum in the marketplace and the critical role we play with decision-makers who rely on our trusted journalism, data, information and analysis.

Please join me in wishing them the best of luck in their important new endeavors.

Almar
