Digital media startup Puck hires business journalists

Puck, a new digital media company that plans to cover the intersection of America’s power centers: Hollywood, Silicon Valley, New York City and Washington, has hired at least four business journalists, reports Sara Fischer of Axios.

They are:

Dylan Byers, formerly a senior media reporter at NBC News for the past three years. He also worked at CNN and Politico covering media.

William Cohan, a bestselling author, financial journalist, and former M&A banker, covering what’s really happening on Wall Street.

Teddy Schleifer, a senior reporter covering money and influence at Vox’s Recode. He previously was a political reporter at CNN. He will continue covering billionaires and their influence in politics, philanthropy and technology.

Benjamin Landy, the former executive editor of Fast Company digital, has been hired as executive editor.

Chris Roush

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
