Denver Post editor: Column inches for business news won't decline

Greg Moore, the editor of the Denver Post, told the Denver Business Journal Monday that the paper’s decision to move the business section inside other sections during the week doesn’t mean that the column inches to business news will decline.

Mark Harden wrote, “Moore said advertising support for the section had shrunk ‘to the point we needed to re-evaluate the wisdom of a free-standing section. The section was down to six pages most weekdays and a page of that was devoted to obituaries, if not more.’

“Combining the two sections ‘will save some newsprint while at the same time increasing our color options in the news section,’ Moore said.

“‘Believe it or not, the column inches devoted to business news will be close to the same. And the single section will have more heft.'”
