Boots Gifford, the print editor at the Denver Business Journal, is leaving the American City Business Journals paper.
Her last day is Thursday. Gifford is moving to Charleston, South Carolina.
“For right now I’m looking at spending some time with family and doing some freelance/contract work,” said Gifford, “then hopefully get on with a publication either working remotely or one based in the Charleston area.”
Gifford has been with the paper since September 2003 in various positions, including overseeing the editorial production of the weekly newspaper including layout, design, and some photography and graphics, and coordination of the weekly special report including making article assignments, design, editing and layout.
She also produced periodic special reports and supplements and oversaw editorial involvement with awards and other special events.
Before the Denver Business Journal, Gifford was special sections editor and associate editor of FrontRange Tech Biz, an ACBJ publication that started in 2001 and closed on November 2002.
She was also managing editor of the Estes Park Trail-Gazette in Colorado and managing editor of the Havre Daily News in Montana.
