Rebecca Troyer has been named the new editor in chief of the Denver Business Journal, replacing Neil Westegaard, who is retiring.

Troyer has been the editor of the Triad Business Journal in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Caitlin Hendee of the Dallas paper writes, “‘I am delighted to welcome Rebecca Troyer to the Denver Business Journal and the Denver business community in general,’ said DBJ Publisher Pete Casillas. ‘Her entrepreneurial spirit and thoughtful approach to business coverage will be key to the DBJ’s continued evolution.’

“Before serving as editor-in-chief, Troyer was managing editor of the Triangle Business Journal in Raleigh, North Carolina from 2013 to 2016, where she oversaw newsroom operations and managed print and digital content. Both of the North Carolina business journals are sister publications to the DBJ and are part of American City Business Journals, the largest publisher of metropolitan business newsweeklies in the United States, with 43 business publications across the country.

“‘I look forward to leading this talented newsroom as we continue the DBJ’s 70-year tradition of delivering the exclusive business news and industry intelligence that matters most to Denver business leaders,’ Troyer said.

“Troyer will succeed Neil Westergaard, who announced his retirement in November. Westergaard served as editor-in-chief for more than 18 years.”
