Debtwire hires reporter to cover oil and gas sector

Rachel Butt

Rachel Butt has been hired by Debtwire to cover stressed and distressed companies in the oil and gas sector.

She starts on Nov. 9.

Prior to Debtwire, Butt has covered finance and private equity for Business Insider. She’s also interned for Bloomberg News in New York and Hong Kong and at the South China Morning Post in Hong Kong.

She is a graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill, specializing in business journalism.

She also earned a master’s degree in business and economic reporting at New York University.

Chris Roush

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
