DeBaise joins Entrepreneur from Wall Street Journal

Colleen DeBaise has joined the Entrepreneur.com editorial team as director of special projects.

DeBaise was previously small business editor at The Wall Street Journal and is the author of “The Wall Street Journal Complete Small Business Guidebook.”

DeBaise joins the staff of executive online editor Laura Lorber. Lorber, formerly editor of the Wall Street Journal Digital Network’s financial careers site, FINS.com, a property of Dow Jones & Co., joined Entrepreneur.com last year.

“We are thrilled to have Colleen join our team,” says Lorber in a statement. “Colleen has become a leading voice in small-business and entrepreneurship coverage and is a great fit on our team.”

Other members of the Entrepreneur.com editorial team, all based in New York, are:

  • Teri Evans, deputy editor, who manages the strategic growth of the content. Evans was previously a freelance journalist for national publications and websites such as The Wall Street Journal, FoxBusiness.com and SmartMoney.com, and has been featured on MSNBC’s Your Business.
  • Diana Ransom, contributing editor, who was previously a journalist for The Wall Street Journal, the New York Daily News, SmartMoney.com and Fast Company.
  • Jason Fell, senior online editor, who previously served as online news editor of Foliomag.com, the online arm of Folio: magazine.
Chris Roush

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
