Devin Banerjee, who helps oversee North American mergers and acquisitions coverage for Bloomberg News, is leaving the organization.

Here is his farewell note sent to his colleagues:

Friends –

Looking back on the past seven years, I’m overwhelmed with gratitude for the opportunities Bloomberg has given me. Most of all, I’m grateful to the people — you — who taught me so much and became true friends. Really, thank you.

Today is my last day at Bloomberg. I’ll be trying something new in media, working on a financial news effort at a technology company. I’ll be in New York before moving to San Francisco next month.

It’s easy to forget how fortunate we are to work for an organization that, on top of taking care of us and customers, commits billions and billions of dollars to some of the most pressing causes. I’ll miss that among many other things.

Thanks especially to a few of the amazing mentors in this newsroom: Lizzie Fournier, Dan Hauck, Aaron Kirchfeld, Jason Kelly, my ride-or-die David Carey (he’ll have to look up what that means), Pierre Paulden, Christian Baumgaertel, Matt Miller, Dan Kraut, Christine Harper, Matt Winkler, Tom Contiliano and many more.

All the very best,

Devin
