Interim chief executive officer Larry Kramer of TheStreet.com sent out the following to the staff on Tuesday:
Later today we are announcing the appointment of Margaret de Luna as President of TheStreet.com, which is the newly assembled Consumer Division of TheStreet Inc. Margaret spent more than a decade at MarketWatch where she directed product development and rose to become the Interim General Manager. In total she has almost 20 years of experience in Digital Media, include running editorial operations at Hoovers Online.
Margaret will report to me and have P&L responsibility for both the TheStreet.com website, the additional consumer websites and the premium subscription business. She will also be the de facto product manager for the consumer businesses, and help build our product organization to where it should be.
Under the new structure, Margaret and James Freiman will run our consumer division, with James managing advertising, business development, and partnership revenues across all of our businesses. In his broader role, James will also report to me, with a dotted line to Margaret.
Michael Crosby and Rachelle Zorn will continue to manage our B-to-B businesses with each reporting directly to me.
We now have strong divisional management teams in place for a growth company.
In future weeks you will see more information about the merging newsroom that will support all of these businesses.
