Carol Clark has been promoted to publisher of the Dayton Business Journal. She replaces Neil Arthur, who has decided to pursue opportunities outside the company.
A story on the paper’s site states, “Clark has been advertising director in Dayton since January, 2008. With more than 20 years in the media industry, she has led advertising sales teams throughout the eastern U.S., at daily, weekly and niche publications.
“Prior to embarking on her newspaper career, she spent 15 years as an entrepreneur in various businesses.
“Clark began her newspaper career at Suburban News Publications in Columbus as an account executive. After 10 years of service in advertising management, she served as regional advertising director for three daily newspapers in northern Ohio with Gannett, the largest newspaper publisher in the world. Clark then served at The Columbus Dispatch as classified advertising director, managing the advertising team until 2005. Clark then moved to Kitty Hawk, N.C., to serve as North Carolina advertising director for The Virginian Pilot, headquartered in Norfolk, Va., until she decided to return to Ohio in 2008.”
