Dayton Biz Journal editor Baker promoted to publisher

Don Baker

Don Baker, the veteran editor-in-chief of the Dayton Business Journal, has been promoted to market president and publisher.

Managing editor Caleb Stephens writes, “Baker has spent nearly 20 years with the Business Journal, including stints as a reporter, senior reporter, associate editor and managing editor. He has served as editor-in-chief of the Dayton Business Journal since being named to the top editor post in January 2006. Baker replaces Carol Clark, who left the publication Sept. 1.

“‘I’m excited about the opportunities we have in Dayton,’ Baker said. ‘Innovation and creativity are what’s needed in our industry right now, and that’s what I hope to bring to the role as I lead the team here.’

“A Dayton native, Baker is a 1995 graduate of Ball State University with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and minor focuses in political science and history. He has won numerous journalism awards throughout his career for his time as a reporter and as an editor.”
