Shawn Shinneman has been hired by the Dallas Business Journal as technology reporter, starting on July 18.
A story on its website states, “A 2011 graduate of Truman State University, Shinneman received his M.A. in journalism from the University of Missouri earlier this year. While at Missouri, he was awarded the Larry J. Waller Fellowship in Investigative Reporting, which allowed him to examine the fallout in various states from wrongful convictions. “At the Business Journal, Shinneman will cover technology companies and trends in tech that are impacting the bottom line at companies across North Texas, along with the executives who lead these fast-growing firms. Shinneman will also serve as the editor of the Business Journal’s daily newsletter, TechFlash.
“‘Shawn brings a wealth of experience to one of our most popular and critical beats,’ said Editor-in-Chief Jeff Schnick. ‘He’s one of the best young journalists in the country and we’re excited to bring him on board next week.'”
