D CEO magazine hires assistant editor

Jessica Melton has been hired as assistant editor of D CEO magazine, where she will also write for its RealPoints real estate blog.

Christine Perez of D magazine writes, “Melton has served as an editorial intern for D Magazine Partners since last fall. Earlier this year, she began focusing exclusively on RealPoints and D research projects.

“‘We’re truly excited about Jessica joining our staff full-time,’ said Glenn Hunter, D CEO’s executive editor. ‘She’s already a tenacious reporter and a solid writer, and she has a passion for business journalism.’

“Melton will join D CEO and RealPoints full time in May, after graduating from the University of Texas at Dallas, where she majors in literary studies. She currently serves as editor of The Mercury, UTD’s student publication. Melton previously was life and arts editor for The Mercury and, before that, director of sales and promotions. At 19, she became the youngest student ever named to an editor post at the publication.”
