D CEO has a new real estate editor

Bianca Montes

D CEO has hired Bianca Montes as senior editor where she will oversee commercial real estate coverage for the publication.

She will also focus on breaking news reports and online coverage and will edit the magazine’s weekly commercial real estate e-newsletter.

Additionally, she will also drive social engagement and write industry columns and other stories for the print edition of D CEO.

The new addition to the magazine’s editorial team comes from another D Division, People Newspapers. There, Montes served as managing editor for Park Cities People and Preston Hollow People. She focused on a variety of issues for the hyper-local newspapers.

She also won a national journalism award for an education story she wrote and  helped the group earn “Best in Class” honors.

Additionally, Montes has also worked as a crime reporter for three years at the Victoria Advocate where she earned several state and national awards for investigative reporting. One of the awards she won was the 2016 Freedom of Information Foundation of Texas Spirit of FOIA award.

“Bianca is a seasoned journalist who’s committed to breaking news and going beyond the who-what-when-where to bring readers the ‘why’ of a story,” said Christine Perez, editor of D CEO. “She has a natural curiosity and is very driven—the ideal journalist to take our commercial real estate coverage to a new level.”

Montes’ hiring is the final piece of a five-person effort to cover the industry.

“It’s exciting to cover commercial real estate during such a vibrant market like Dallas-Fort Worth,” Montes said. “Our business and real estate communities impact the region in such a powerful way.”
