The Crunchbase News team is an editorially independent newsroom within Crunchbase that reports on private companies, venture capital and startups for a growing audience of entrepreneurs, executives, investors, market researchers and salespeople. All of our journalism is informed by Crunchbase’s world-class data and our own original reporting.
What You’ll Do
- Work with reporters and others editors to help lead and develop Crunchbase News editorial and data projects around high-profile reporting beats
- Edit stories, assist in compiling and editing our daily newsletter, and guide our editorial priorities
- Work closely with the Editor in Chief to develop and maintain the editorial calendar
- Help the news team hit traffic and other growth targets
- Occasionally pitch in on writing and reporting as needed
What We’re Looking For
- A candidate with strong, proven organizational skills who can reliably plan and execute longer-term editorial projects on deadline
- A journalist with experience as both an editor and writer in a fast-paced newsroom
- Someone who enjoys working closely with other reporters and editors on story development and assignments and help ensure accuracy in our reporting and data while polishing our prose
- Prior experience covering finance, venture capital, tech or startups is not required, but the right candidate will have a keen curiosity about learning more about the subjects we cover
- Experience working cross-functionally with members of other teams (i.e., Social Media, Marketing or Product) is preferred
- Experience working with modern workplace and publishing tools such as Slack, Zoom, Google Suite and WordPress is preferred
