Crain to launch Denver email newsletter next week

Crain Communications, which runs weekly business newspapers in Chicago, Cleveland, Detroit and New York, plans to launch a daily email newsletter for Denver readers, reports Dallas Heltzell of BizWest.

Heltzwell writes, “According to an email sent to Crain’s subscribers, the newsletter each day will curate business news and information from every Crain publication plus a variety of local, national and industry content publishers, then deliver it free to subscribers early on weekday mornings.

“Crain’s empire includes about 30 business, trade and consumer publications and related Web sites in North America, Europe and Asia.

“Direct competition between Crain’s and Charlotte, N.C.-based American City Business Journals has heated up in recent years as each company launches ventures in areas served by the other. ACBJ, owned by Advance Publications Inc., publishes about 40 ‘Business Journal’ newspapers and associated websites, including the Denver Business Journal.”
