Crain’s New York reporter Lewis leaving to freelance

Caroline Lewis

Crain’s New York Business reporter Caroline Lewis is leaving the paper after three years to become a freelancer.

Her last day is June 22.

“I hope to continue covering health care, drugs and criminal justice and may throw a few other subjects into the mix,” she wrote on Twitter.

She has been covering the business of health care, including medical marijuana, health care reform, startups and industry consolidation, for the Crain paper.

Lewis joined Crain’s New York in May 2015 and contributes to the subscription-based health industry newsletter Health Pulse. She also helps plan and moderate panels at Crain’s health conferences and occasionally speak on panels hosted by other organizations.

Lewis previously spent two years with Free Speech Radio News, covering political, social and environmental issues in the United States.

She holds a bachelor’s degree from Oberlin College and a master’s degree from the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism. She freelanced in New York before joining Crain’s.
