Crain’s New York launches lifestyle magazine

Crain’s New York Business has launched Crain’s 5boros, a consumer lifestyle magazine covering food, fashion, retail, the arts, and residential real estate.

Valerie Block of Crain’s New York writes, “The quarterly magazine, which published Monday, chronicles the impressive growth and resurgence of neighborhoods in every borough of the city.

“A companion website with a blogger network 5boros.com also launched on Monday.

“Crain’s 5boros, with an initial circulation of 25,000, will serve as a trail guide for urban explorers eager to discover the city’s new vibrancy. ‘5boros readers are supremely interested in pursuing their hometown more fully, from the little shop around the corner to the last stop on the subway map,’ Crain’s New York Business Editor Glenn Coleman wrote in the premiere issue. ‘They are New Yorkers who embrace the ever-changing nature of the city’s five boroughs.’

“The Fall 2014 issue of 5boros offers tips on spending a day in Red Hook, a look at the dozens of craft breweries that entrepreneurs have opened throughout the city in recent years, and Thrillist’s ‘5boro tour’ to the best pizza in every borough. Thrillist is a 5boros special contributor.”
