Frank Sennett, former president and editor-in-chief of Time Out Chicago, will join Crain’s Chicago Business Jan. 20 as the publication’s new head of digital strategy.
A story on the Crain’s Chicago website states, “He will fill the post held by Brian Reilly, who was recently promoted to head of digital strategy for all of Crain Communications Inc., which also publishes Advertising Age, Automotive News, Business Insurance and a range of other trade magazines.
“From January 2008 until April 2013, Mr. Sennett managed a staff of more than 60 people who produced the weekly magazine Time Out Chicago, a 2008 National Magazine Award finalist, as well as the bimonthly Time Out Chicago Kids, the annual Eating & Drinking Guide, a Time Out Chicago iPhone app and a tablet edition.
“After Time Out Chicago was sold in 2013, Mr. Sennett managed the transition to its new owners and in recent months has served as interim COO of RogerEbert.com. He was also hired as a consultant by Tribune Co. to play a role in the relaunch of its Metromix entertainment website.
“In his new role at Crain’s, Mr. Sennett will work with the editorial and business-side teams to strengthen the publication’s existing digital properties and develop new ones.”
