Crain’s Chicago Business has hired Elyssa Cherney to cover education and some industries.
She has been covering education at the Chicago Tribune.
Before joining the Tribune in November 2016, Cherney worked at the Orlando Sentinel and covered the 2016 Pulse nightclub shooting as part of a team named a Pulitzer Prize finalist.
She has bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University in journalism and gender and sexuality studies. She interned at the Reading Eagle in Pennsylvania and the Johannesburg Times in South Africa.
