Crain Communications has acquired Kneed Media, parent company of the Journal of Precision Medicine, for an undisclosed amount.

Kneed Media will be combined with GenomeWeb, an online news organization covering the scientific and economic ecosystem spurred by advances in molecular biology and personalized medicine, which was acquired by Crain in 2019 and is based in New York.

“Kneed Media’s commitment to informing the precision medicine community aligns perfectly with GenomeWeb’s editorial mission of tracking the adoption and implementation of genomics and biomarker-driven healthcare strategies,” said KC Crain, chief executive officer and president of Crain Communications, in a statement.

The company is led by Nigel Russell, founder and president, and Deanna Russell, chief of operations. Kneed also produces the Precision Medicine Leaders Summit meetings.
