Recently, he was working as a contributing editor.
He has previous stints at CQ Roll Call, including working as editor for CQ Budget Tracker and serving as White House correspondent. Additionally, he was Washington bureau chief and columnist at The Independent.
He has also served as a senior reporter on the Pentagon and national security beat and as a senior congressional reporter and CongressWatch editor at Defense News. He has also worked at U.S. News & World Report and The Hill.
Bennett has a bachelor´s degree in journalism from Appalachian State University and a master´s degree from Johns Hopkins University.
