He’ll be focusing on the legislative and regulatory aspects of data privacy and cyber-security at the federal, state and international level. He is laying the groundwork for a new data privacy daily report that CQ will start sending to Thomson Reuters March 1.
A native of Chicago, Merrion graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana with an English major(and a minor in mathematics, is active in the National Press Club and a Nationals fan.
Thomson Reuters has a relationship with CQ to provide stories for a series of reports that Westlaw offers to its clients in several practitioner specialties, such as banking, insurance and securities, with data privacy being the newest one.
Merrion was Washington Bureau Chief for Crain’s Chicago Business from its inception in 1978 until the bureau was closed March 2015 to reduce costs.
